We are proud to report that two of our own league players at Lone Star were crowned Champions of the Women's "A" Division at the First US OPEN of Beach Volleyball held at Huntington Beach on Sept 21-23, 2007.  Lana Odom & Kim Williamson went undefeated in pool play and finished the day by going perfect in the playoffs to win the title. We are also pleased to announce that Cameron Conaway and Sean Connelly placed 2nd in Mens BB. It was a great showing for the Lone Star State to leave our mark in Southern California.

Hosted by volleyball legend Karch Kiraly, the U.S. Open of Beach Volleyball is the first national championship for open and grassroots beach volleyball players.  Next year should be even better ! Congratulations !

Thursday Co-ed REC (B/BB) 4's   Feb 7 (limited to 10 teams Doubleheaders every night) $160/team     

PLAYING AT WEST PARK HAS BEEN AS CLOSE AS WE CAN GET TO MAINTAINING THE LEVEL OF COMPETITION THAT WE HAVE OUTDOORS.  IT HAS BEEN A GREAT WAY TO PLAY VOLLEYBALL IN A DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENT AND REALLY INPROVES YOUR GAME OVERALL. YOU WILL SEE MANY OF THE SAME FACES AS OUTDOOR AND THE LEVEL OF PLAY WILL BE SIMILAR. MANY TEAMS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO CELEBRATE AFTERWARDS AT THE NEARBY APPLEBEE'S OR ONE OF THE OTHER FINE ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

HOCKEY
The M.C.H.A. (Metro Christian Hockey Association) is now organizing new players and free agents for the upcoming  season at the Stars Center in Grapevine, and at Stonebriar Mall in Frisco
C and D Levels are available. Formerly, a product of Fellowship Church, the MCHA has grown very strongly over the past few years and captains and board members have done a good job of keeping out the ringers, so to speak, thus improving the quality and balance of play.

I personally was invited to join this league about 6 years ago, and have been a strong supporter of the league and it's cause ever since. If you have ever dabbled in the idea of playing hockey and can handle the initial finances, let me know. games are played mostly on sunday nights and the league fee is about $375-$425/player for a 20 game season.
Add about $300-500 if you need all the equipment.  Hockey is especially difficult to play and therefore very rewarding when you achieve success of any kind. I highly recommend it to all who love to compete.

Hockey 101 (free 5 week program with all gear and instruction included) This is coed adult program.  MCHA D begins Sun, Nov 5th; with 6 teams playing Sunday 20-game schedule in Grapevine. Still need a few captains and goalies. -Hockey 101 graduates get $200 off first season registration and special discounts at Players Bench on beginner hockey equipment packages.
